Meet Michael Headen
Michael Headen is United Way’s Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the financial oversight of over $40 million in local financial resources annually. He also manages the Pledge Accounting staff who are responsible for the audit of United Way’s annual campaign as well as United Way’s operations staff. As a member of the senior management team, he has been an integral part of strategies aimed at helping to solve problems in our community.
A lifelong Clevelander and graduate of Cleveland State University, Mr. Headen’s accomplishments include being the 2008 winner of the Nonprofit CFO of the Year for Crain’s Cleveland Business. He was also a prior member of Crain’s Cleveland Business and Kaleidoscope Magazine’s 40 under 40 for young professionals who have made significant accomplishments in their careers and community. He is past Board Chair and President of the Black Professionals Association Charitable Foundation (BPACF) during which time the organization’s fundraising efforts were the highest in its history. He has also served on a Financial Oversight Committee for Cuyahoga County. Mr. Headen is presently leading the Capital Campaign and Growth and Expansion Committee for Imani Church, the church he attends.
