Our Annual Events
United Way of Greater Cleveland conducts numerous fundraising and awareness-building events throughout the year, including:
Campaign Kickoff and Pancake Flip
United Way of Greater Cleveland’s annual campaign kickoff brought a long-standing tradition back to Public Square this year. The Campaign Kickoff and Pancake Flip, held August 31, 2016, served more than 1,000 breakfasts in the newly renovated square, where guests enjoyed local celebrities, entertainment and a serious amount of pancakes with the end goal of addressing serious needs in Greater Cleveland.

Young Leaders Fall Ball
On Saturday, October 8, more than 330 of Cleveland’s young professionals attended the 9th annual Young Leaders Fall Ball at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. DJ Steph Floss and special guest Ricky Smith kept the atmosphere electric and rocking as guests enjoyed a night filled with dancing, endless cocktails, and heavy hors d’oeuvres. In addition, guests explored the museum’s exhibits that were kept open all night long courtesy of KPMG. It was all for a great cause too! Monies raised by the event go towards Young Leaders community commitment of working together to help reduce the income achievement gap in Greater Cleveland.
United Way of Greater Cleveland partnered with the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Metropolitan School District and University Hospitals for the annual Hometown Huddle. The Day of Action took place Tuesday, October 18, at Luis Munoz Marin School and provided pre-k students there with a new playground, as well as beautifying the existing structures.
Women’s Leadership Council’s Rock the CATWALK
The lights dimmed, strobes flashed vibrant hues of red, blue, and purples, music echoed off the walls and the runway was filled with glitz and glamor as our community models rocked the runway!
Guests packed the Global Center for Health Innovation and enjoyed entertainment from the Rainey Institute’s El Sistema@Rainey String Quartet, acoustic guitarist Moises Borges and tango dancers. When the runway cleared the After Party kicked into gear; featuring DJ Dayna, salsa dancers and an exclusive silent auction!
