About John
I am a Corporate Sales Executive for each of Quicken Loans Arena home sports properties, with a focus to both Cleveland’s Lake Erie Monsters and the Cleveland Gladiators. Over the course of my career at the Q, I have also sold Season Tickets and Group Tickets for the Cavaliers. I have been involved in various internal volunteer and employee engagement leadership roles as well as locally with the Hunger Network and Big Brothers Big Sisters in my hometown of Akron, Ohio. In my spare time away from the Q, I enjoy traveling back to the beautiful campus of Ohio University to speak to current students, as well as playing basketball, watching and learning about the business of all sports, and traveling.

Why did you join Young Leaders?
I was introduced to what the United Way was really by Michelle Carver, Special Events Manager, who insisted I participate in a “Flash Mob” in Public Square during the 2010 annual Campaign Kickoff and Pancake Flip. From there, I was a part of our internal “Q” Fundraising Committee. I joined Young Leaders because the tremendous steps the city of Cleveland has taken in the past 3-5 years is inspiring, and it is the work of the Young Leaders cabinet and other young professional groups around the city to maintain this growth and carry the city further into the future.

What is your favorite Young Leaders event and why?
My favorite Young Leaders event is always the Speaker Series. It combines networking with other young professionals along with hearing from some of the most influential people who help to shape Cleveland into what it is today and what it will become for future generations.

What do members hope to get out of their involvement with Young Leaders?
It will be different for everyone, but I think most members look to get networking opportunities out of Young Leaders. The Cleveland landscape is benefited by people working together to accomplish similar goals. At the same time this platform allows young leaders professional development and opportunities for volunteering within Northeast Ohio.
