Women's Leadership Council

Women's Leadership CouncilThe Women’s Leadership Council was formed to inspire, educate and engage women to become actively involved in leadership, philanthropy, volunteerism and advocacy in support of United Way of Greater Cleveland's health and human service priorities.

Under the leadership of Council Chair Sandra Pianalto, Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, retired, and Co-Chairs Fiona Chambers, Deloitte office tax managing partner; and Eliza Wing, American Greetings director of digital brands, the council has assembled a group of dynamic Greater Cleveland women who are interested in working together on health and human service issues in our community.

WLC Co-Chairs: Eliza Wing and Fiona ChambersWe are proud to serve as co-chairs for the Women’s Leadership Council formed to inspire, educate and engage women to become actively involved in leadership, philanthropy, volunteerism and advocacy in support of United Way’s health and human service priorities.

While our mission remains the same, this year we have selected education as our particular area of emphasis. We are working to help ensure that every child in our community is able to reach their full potential and have access to a quality education. We invite you to become a member of this influential and compassionate team as we harness our time and resources to make a difference.  Sign up here or learn more (PDF).

In the year ahead, the WLC will take a lead in mobilizing change for families in Cuyahoga County through philanthropic giving, volunteerism and advocacy.  We will be partnering with the Centers for Families and Children 2,000 Day Pledge Program -- a program designed to influence school readiness, effective teacher parent relationships and quality school choice options.

We are in the process of developing volunteer and engagement activities with a variety of options which we hope you are able to participate in.  We believe in the power of a diverse group of caring women.  Together, we look forward to making real change in lives of children today and in the future.
