Sponsored Group Insurance Important Dates

The objectives of the United Way Sponsored Group Health Insurance Plan are to:

  • provide access to a reasonable selection of health care plans through quality providers
  • seek competitive rates for the plans with a reasonable expectation of stability in future costs
  • emphasize a shared responsibility for health care consumerism and cost management
  • develop a long-range strategy to educate employees about their health and the utilization of health care benefits
  • promote wellness and preventive care

IMPORTANT DATES FOR APRIL 2012

Sunday, April 1
  • April Fools Day
  • New enrollees benefits effective
  • COBRA premiums due
  • 4% late fee assessed for March premiums not received

    Monday, April 2
  • Benefits effective May 1 for employees hired April 2-30

    Thursday, April 5
  • COBRA nonpayment from prior month cancelled
  • Nonpayment notice and HIPAA certificate sent

    Friday, April 6
  • Good Friday
  • Passover begins

    Sunday, April 8
  • Easter Sunday

    Friday, April 13
  • Passover Ends
  • April premiums due to Findley Davies
  • Wraparound document, Women's Health Act & applicable booklets distributed to eligible participants

    Tuesday, April 17
  • Tax Day
  • COBRA and HIPAA initial notice communicated to eligible participants

    Friday, April 20
  • Reminder e-mail to agencies that have not paid April premiums

    Sunday, April 22
  • Earth Day

    Wednesday, April 25
  • Administrative Professionals Day

    Thursday, April 26
  • Last day to process changes for May bill (fax to Findley Davies)
