Sponsored Group Insurance Important Dates

The objectives of the United Way Sponsored Group Health Insurance Plan are to:

  • provide access to a reasonable selection of health care plans through quality providers
  • seek competitive rates for the plans with a reasonable expectation of stability in future costs
  • emphasize a shared responsibility for health care consumerism and cost management
  • develop a long-range strategy to educate employees about their health and the utilization of health care benefits
  • promote wellness and preventive care (view wellness tips)

IMPORTANT DATES FOR AUGUST 2010


Sunday, August 1
  • New enrollees benefits effective
  • COBRA premiums due
  • 4% late fee assessed for July premiums not received

    Monday, August 2
  • Benefits effective September 1 for employees hired August 2-31

    Thursday, August 5 
  • COBRA nonpayment from prior month cancelled
  • HIPAA certificate sent

    Friday, August 13 
  • August premiums due to Findley Davies
  • Wraparound document, Women's Health Act & applicable booklets distributed to eligible participants

    Tuesday, August 17
  • COBRA and HIPAA initial notice communicated to eligible participants

    Friday, August 20 
  • Reminder e-mail to agencies that have not paid August premiums

    Friday, August 27 
  • Last day to process changes for September bill (fax to Findley Davies)

    Tuesday, August 31 
  • Roster billings for September mailed
