WLC Day of Caring at Transitional Housing, Inc.

Please join us in assisting clients of Transitional Housing, Inc., in developing job readiness skills. This is an opportunity to share your knowledge and experience and help women gain the skills they need to move from homelessness to independence and self-sufficiency.

Registration for the February 28 volunteer event has reached maximum capacity and is now closed. Our next volunteer date will be Tuesday, March 27.

Project Details: Transitional Housing has selected this timeframe because the first two weeks of each month are dedicated to an intensive job readiness program. By the third week, the goal at Transitional Housing is to have the women prepared for mock interviews. The following first three tasks would be the primary focus of this Day of Caring. If time allows and/or THI has a small caseload one month, volunteers could include items 4 and 5.

• Mock interviews - Transitional Housing, Inc. will provide a feedback sheet/report card for the volunteers to use and assess clients;
• Resume development or enhancement;
• Provide suggestions to clients for job leads - This may include assistance with online applications and/or offering suggestions to the client about prospective employers based upon her job interests and employment background;
• Professional attire - Using THI’s Lending Closet;
• Professional etiquette
