United Way of Greater Cleveland teamed up with more than 125 volunteers from the Cleveland Browns, The Huntington National Bank and Medical Mutual Tuesday, October 23, for the 14th Annual Hometown Huddle.
During this national NFL Day of Caring, Cleveland Browns players and staff members worked alongside our VIP team of community leaders to build a brand-new playground in just one day at Phillis Wheatley Association, a United Way community partner. In addition to building the playground, volunteers also helped with many side projects such as planting a few gardens, building planter benches and painting a beautiful mural.
At the end of the day Josh Cribbs, Mayor Jackson and United Way’s 2012 Campaign Co-Chairs Dan Walsh, Huntington National Bank, and Rick Chiricosta, Medical Mutual, led a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate this new play area to the children of Phillis Wheatley Association.
