Kathleen Taylor joined United Way of Greater Cleveland on April 25, 2017 as Sr. Director of the Executive Office. She is responsible for ensuring the efficient operations of United Way’s Executive Office, which includes helping to set and deliver United Way’s strategic priorities with the highest standards of quality, synergy and productivity. A key member of the President and CEO’s Executive Team, Ms. Taylor manages all operational facets for that office, including personnel, budgeting and financial controls, strategy conceptualization and implementation, goal-setting, policies and procedures, and meeting planning, as well as a number of other duties as a representative of the President and CEO.
Prior to joining United Way, Ms. Taylor served as Interim Chief Advancement Officer at the Cleveland Museum of Art, as well as Director of Advancement Administration there. Her career in both the non-profit and corporate sectors has spanned more than 35 years, and she has demonstrated expertise in major gift fundraising, communications, media and investor relations, community engagement and administrative management in the arts and culture, health care, manufacturing and technology sectors through her tenure in major Northeast Ohio non-profit institutions as well in Fortune 200 and other corporations.
A native of Northeast Ohio, Ms. Taylor holds both a BA in English/Communications and an MBA/Marketing from the University of Akron. She is a graduate of Leadership Akron, as well as Cleveland’s Civic Leadership Institute, and was honored to receive the Women’s History Project/Woman of the Year Award for perseverance, and Women in Communications Member of the Year Award, among others. Kathy has served in a number of board and other volunteer capacities at Our Lady of the Elms Schools in Akron, and is a long-time member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the local and national Association of Charitable Gift Planners.
