The Importance of Investing in United Way
Your investment works wonders in our community.
- In education, your donation helps prepare children for kindergarten, making sure kids are reading at the appropriate grade level in elementary school. Donations also keep children on track to graduate from high school.
- In income, your investment empowers individuals and families to achieve financial stability by helping them find self-sustaining work and manage their finances.
- In health, you contribute to building a robust and resilient community by making healthy food available in areas where the only food vendor is a convenience store. Your contribution also helps support systems to make healthcare available for everyone.
Donations Make a Long-Lasting Impact
The United Way of Greater Cleveland Philanthropist Society is a powerful force for creating a better community. Affiliated with the National Tocqueville Society, the Philanthropist Society operates under its own charge, appealing to the abilities and influence of its generous membership. Members can feel confident when making annual gifts of $10,000 or more because they know United Way will use their charitable investment to provide the best return. Our Million Dollar Roundtable consists of donors who give a single or cumulative gift of $1 million during a 10-year period. Visionary Society Members contribute $100,000 or more.
Humanitarian Society donor contributions include donations of $1,000 to $9,999. These contributions typically represent 25 percent of the campaign total each year. The generous support of Humanitarians joins the contributions of all donors to facilitate United Way’s work as a change agent. United Way’s focus involves ensuring that kids succeed in school, families and individuals achieve and maintain financial stability, and communities gain equitable access to health and wellness care.
The Women’s Leadership Council includes donations of $250 or more, and it works to empower and energize Greater Cleveland women to change the lives of its youngest citizens. Through philanthropy, volunteerism and advocacy, WLC members are devoted to ensuring every child in Greater Cleveland has the opportunity to attend a quality preschool and to choose a high performing primary school.
Young Leaders are professionals in their 20s and 30s who want to make our community better through philanthropy, volunteerism and advocacy with United Way of Greater Cleveland.
