Heroes in the CLE shines the spotlight on community superheroes
Flipping away from its traditional pancake breakfast event, this year’s United Way of Greater Cleveland campaign kickoff celebrated the superheroes of our community – people who give their time, talents and treasure to those in critical need throughout Greater Cleveland and the region.
“This year we’re changing it up from pancakes and taking a more progressive approach to celebrating our kickoff,” said United Way of Greater Cleveland President & CEO Augie Napoli. “As someone who holds Cleveland near and dear to my heart, I wanted to help showcase our great city in a less traditional way, while focusing on two key points – the people we serve and the donors who make it possible to do so. We’ve held a kickoff event each year where we would share our fundraising goal and introduce our Campaign Co-Chairs. This year, we wanted to be bolder and let our esteemed Campaign Co-Chairs and chief volunteers, Beth Mooney, chair and CEO of KeyCorp and Chris Kelly, partner at Jones Day, lead the charge.”
Heroes in the CLE featured the best local food trucks, the amazing DJ Ryan Wolf (official DJ for the Cleveland Browns) and celebrated our hometown superheroes whose incredible work, volunteerism and generosity have helped reduce the effects of poverty and positively impacted our community.
Heroes in the CLE: United Way Campaign Kickoff, was hosted by KeyBank and presented by Oswald Companies, Thursday, August 31st, on Mall B in Downtown Cleveland.
