CLEVELAND (February 10, 2014) Annually many low and middle-income individuals turn over a hefty percentage of their refunds to pay for tax preparation services. United Way is encouraging taxpayers to keep more of their refund by completing their taxes online for free at www.MyFreeTaxes.com/Ohio.

Individuals and families with a 2013 household income of $58,000 or less can file their taxes for free online at www.MyFreeTaxes.com/Ohio. The safe and secure website, powered by H&R Block, is user friendly with step-by-step instructions to ensure proper tax filing for state and federal returns.

Nationally, since its inception in 2009, My Free Taxes has helped millions of individuals and families file free federal and state tax returns, resulting in nearly $8 billion in federal income tax refunds and more than $913 million in tax preparer fee savings.

My Free Taxes is sponsored by the Walmart Foundation in partnership with Goodwill Industries, National Disability Institute and United Way Worldwide.
