Commitment to Innovation
Our Commitment to Innovation
The United Way of Greater Cleveland supports innovative approaches aimed at building income and wealth. As such, we are proud to serve as a launching pad for promising ideas from our community.
Recognizing that poverty is not merely a collection of individual challenges but stems from systemic barriers, the United Way of Greater Cleveland works to tackle the root causes of economic hardship. Through rigorous research, innovative initiatives, and strategic partnerships, we strive to dismantle these barriers to make it easier to build income here.

Partnering with Universal Basic Employment (UBE)
We are proud to participate in a groundbreaking two-year research and development phase of a Universal Basic Employment (UBE) pilot. This innovative approach seeks to understand how offering better financial security through meaningful employment impacts the trajectory of a person’s income and wealth going forward, helps local businesses retain strong and productive employees, and increases community and civic engagement in our neighborhoods.

United Way of Greater Cleveland remains steadfast in our commitment to research-driven solutions and collective action. Together with our partners and the support of our community, we continue to strive toward a future where economic equity and mobility are possible for all.
