United Way of Greater Cleveland Appoints Michael Brown as Senior Director of Human Resources

CLEVELAND (March 1, 2022) – United Way of Greater Cleveland today announced the appointment of Michael Brown as senior director of Human Resources. In this role, he will have broad responsibility for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s Human Resources strategy, planning, and initiatives, including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, organizational learning and succession planning.
“Michael is an excellent addition to United Way of Greater Cleveland’s team, bringing more than 10 years of management experience to our organization,” said Augie Napoli, President and CEO. “He is a proven leader with a strong track record of driving high employee engagement, cross-cultural collaboration, and superior results across the organizations he has served – skills which are vital as United Way leads and partners on efforts to alleviate generational poverty for those individuals and families in need.”

Brown has more than 10 years of leadership and management experience, with extensive expertise in human resources program design and strategic planning. He most recently served as Director of Human Resources for The City of Twinsburg, where he developed and executed Human Resources policies, activities, and staff development in line with the organization’s mission and talent strategy. Prior to that, Brown worked in Cuyahoga County Government for eight years, leading talent acquisition, employment, and other strategic human resources efforts. Brown holds a B.A. in Philosophy from Miami University of Ohio. He is also a local and national SHRM (The Society for Human Resources Management) member.
