United Way of Greater Cleveland names Mike Beedles Chief Financial Officer

Cleveland native and finance veteran brings two decades of financial expertise, deep community roots and nonprofit expertise to United Way

CLEVELAND (January 30, 2025) – United Way of Greater Cleveland today announced the appointment of Mike Beedles, CPA, as its new Chief Financial Officer, effective February 18. A Cleveland native with deep roots in the community, Beedles brings over two decades of financial leadership experience across public and private sectors.

“Mike’s unique blend of financial expertise and commitment to community service makes him the ideal choice to lead the financial strategy for our United Way,” said Sharon Sobol Jordan, United Way of Greater Cleveland’s President and CEO. “His track record of driving organizational growth while fostering inclusive environments perfectly aligns with our mission.”

Beedles joins United Way after serving in leadership roles at the Federal Reserve, Things Remembered, and Arthur Andersen. His extensive experience spans complex financial operations, team development, and strategic planning.

Raised in Cleveland’s Glenville neighborhood, Mike has a deep, firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by the communities United Way serves. His active involvement in local nonprofits includes board positions with the Boys & Girls Club of Northeast Ohio and the Cleveland Institute of Music. He previously served as Treasurer of Karamu House and as a board member for Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Beedles holds a BS in Accounting and Finance from the University of Cincinnati and maintains an active CPA license. He is also a graduate of Leadership Cleveland’s Class of 2023 and serves as a mentor with College Now.
