Red Feather Society

The Red Feather Society recognizes donors who give an annual gift of $50,000+ to United Way of Greater Cleveland. In 1945, the red feather was chosen as the national symbol for Community Chests, a forerunner of the modern United Way. Red feather pins were awarded to donors and worn proudly as a sign of a commitment to their community. The Red Feather Society was named in honor of our humble beginning and to recognize our most dedicated supporters.
