Health Pathways

Mission

The mission of Family & Community Services is to strengthen, empower, and enrich the lives of individuals and families through a broad continuum of services.

Program Description: Food Insecurity Collaborative

Geauga County social service agencies will improve access to food for residents in need. Those at risk are senior citizens, individuals with mental health issues, and families with children.

The Food Insecurity Collaborative will provide three different approaches to provide access to food. They will reach out to senior citizens and those who are disabled on a weekly basis to assess wellness and schedule food deliveries as needed. They will also focus on those in shelter settings, ensuring that food is provided 24/7 to children and adults. Lastly, grocery store gift cards will be distributed to larger families with children to ensure that no one goes hungry.

The collaborative will meet monthly to address client needs and evaluate services.

Andrea Pollock, program director for Family & Community Services, speaks about the Food Insecurity Collaborative and their goals in Geauga County.
