About

The Lead Safe Cleveland Coalition is a public-private partnership committed to reducing lead exposure and lead poisoning among Cleveland’s families and children.

The coalition’s approach is preventive, comprehensive, and long-term. It includes providing loans and grants, lead safe trainings, and community outreach to property owners, tenants and childcare facilities. It also includes workforce development and certification for lead safe workers.

Impact

As of September of 2023, over 6,600 properties with 29,954 units were made lead safe and received lead safe certification.

We have been a key partner in the Lead Safe Coalition since its inception in 2019.

United Way of Greater Cleveland has helped provide lead safety education, workforce development training, and financial and construction management assistance to Cleveland landlords and homeowners to help make homes lead safe.
